Testimonies

The following quotes are from two of our previous team:

“Volunteering at Eternal Benefits has had an amazing effect on my life. Suffering from debilitating sickness, I have not able to work for a number of years. Since I’ve been volunteering at Eternal Benefits everything has changed. Before coming I struggled to leave the house, now I help manage the shop and train other volunteers who were just like me. I am still ill, but I’m getting better. I have found faith, hope and a purpose since being here and can’t wait for what’s around the corner.” Donna.

“My friend suggested volunteering at Eternal Benefits at a time when I had almost ‘given up on life’ having recently lost nearly everything I care about, including my job, due to issues with substances. I popped down to Respect and following a chat with Ian, I was invited to join the team. Eternal Benefits has had such a positive influence on my life and although I continue to experience the consequences of my addiction – such as losing my house, I do so with the guidance and support of everyone here – I could not have got this far without them”. David.

Meanwhile, the Eternal Benefits team have been honoured to receive much local recognition: ‘Above and Beyond’, ‘Pride of Yorkshire’, and the Lord Mayor of Hull’s ‘Hull Civic Crown’ award for service to the community. And it has done this with minimal resources.
